Born 1966, Dirk Schreurs started playing the piano at the age of 6.
Having taken a solid classical training at the Music Academy of Neerpelt, he graduated summa cum laude.
At the age of 15 he sat in with R&B-giants such as Bob Hall, Dave Peabody and the Deluxe Bluesband at the Belgian Folk & Blues-festival. At the European Youth Music festival ('84), The Dutch Television (NOS) recorded Dirk's performance of the jazz-musical "On the town" by Leonard Bernstein.

Meanwhile, he met Enrico Pieranunzi, Trilok Gurtu, John Abercrombie, Jack de Johnette, Martial Solal and David Kikoski, all of which gave spiritual direction to his dynamic search for jazz. He composed and arranged over 200 tunes, many of which have found their way not only to the performing stage but also to the realm of radio & television in Europe.

Since 1985 he has played with Koen, Johan and Peter Vandendriessche, Umberto Fillipetti, Fabien Degryse, Bruno Meeus, Michel Hatzigeorgiou, Eddy Devos, Tony Gyselinck, Piet Verbist, Yves Baibay, Hugo Bogaerts, Pietro Lacirignola, Jeroen Van Herzeele, Roman Korolik, Mimi Verderame, Jan Mues,Lieven Venken, Eric Surmenian, Werner Lauscher ....

Since the mid 80’s he has specialized in operating and playing vintage keyboards & synthesizers (Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Clavinet, Hammond, Moog) and did numerous studio and live sessions with Real Deal, DSWB4, Triassic Jazz, DS Trio, Jive Talk, Jan Mues Quartet, The Musetrap, Jazz & Beyond, Cool Convention, and solo.

Since 1994 Dirk has been teaching piano/Keyboards, improvisation, ensemble and methodology at the jazz department of the Royal Brussels Conservatory.
