Born on Belgium's nat'l day, july 21st ('72) Nicolas is a self taught.
Between '89 and '94 he followed courses at the Antwerp Jazz Studio, with Pierre Vaiana, Peter Hertmans, Pierre Van Dormael, ...

From there, he moves to the Brussels conservatory, jazz section, and at age 25 obtains 1st price for instruments with great distinction.

Played with various formations.
Became a teacher at the Jazz Studio between 1994 - 1997. In '97 he recorded with Ben Ngabo "Umugezi".

Nicolas is a member of Olivier Collette's Quartet
