Born in 1960.

From 1980 to 1982 : studied at "Berklee School of Music" in Boston, USA.
First prize for guitar and harmony, in the jazz department of the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles.

Accompanied, in a TV program "Jeunes Solistes" of the RTBF, Toots THIELEMANS, Nicole CROISILLE, Philippe LAFONTAINE, The GOLDEN GATE QUARTET...

Concerts with Philip CATHERINE, Calvin OWENS, Steve HOUBEN, Charles LOOS, Richard ROUSSELET, Jean-Louis RASSINFOSSE, Bruno CASTELLUCCI, Erwin VANN, Eric LEGNINI, Paolo RADONI, Pirly ZURSTRASSEN...

1987: Tour with ZAR (Belgium, Canada)

1990: Tour with his own group QUADRUPLEX (Belgium, France, Germany)

1992: Tour with the "Fabien DEGRYSE Quintet"

1993: Awarded the "Sax de la Découverte" for his album "Medor Sadness".

1994: Concerts with Philip CATHERINE, tours with PANTA RHEI. (world music with Steve HOUBEN) in Belgium and Hungary, tour with "L'AME DES POETES" (with Jean-Louis RASSINFOSSE, Pierre VAIANA), Belgium, Benin (Africa)

1995: Concerts with Philip CATHERINE and Toots THIELEMANS.
Tour with "PANTA RHEI" in Belgium, Hungary, Austria, Tunisia, Morocco, Spain, France, Denmark

1996: Tour with "PANTA RHEI". Concerts with "L'AME DES POETES"

1997: Tour with "PANTA RHEI".
Concerts a.o. in Africa (Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger) with "L'AME DES POETES"

1998: tour with "L'AME DES POETES"
Concerts with the Big Band, and with the blues band 'Dry Clean Only'

1999: tour with l'Ame des Poètes, concerts with Dry Clean Only
concert with " l'Ame des Poètes and the Klaus Ignatzek quintet " at Gaume Festival

1999: releases a method for guitar, published by the 'Editions Combre',Paris " l'improvisation jazz par les arpèges pour la guitare "

2000: concerts with l'Ame des Poètes and Dry Clean Only, tour with his quartet

Fabien DEGRYSE is also the initiator of the BIG BAND DE GUITARES, subtitled "Hommage à René THOMAS". He presented this ensemble in various concerts and festivals, as well as on CD.
The cd 'Hommage à René Thomas', with the 'Big Band de guitares' is voted best '98 jazz album of the year in 'Le Soir'

He recently introduced a new quartet (see below).

In '98, Fabien DEGRYSE was elected best Belgian acoustic guitar player of the year '98, both in the listeners poll (RTBF/VRT) and the Belgian critics poll (French speaking).
