Thierry CROMMEN

harmonica

Thierry CROMMEN became a professional player in '87, after graduating in psychology from the Liège University. He very quickly established himself as harmonica player.
Unlikewise other harmonica players, he is one of the rare artists able to exploit the chromatic harmonica (influence of Stevie WONDER, Toots THIELEMANS) as well as the diatonic one (THE instrument of blues). As a self-taught, he has forged an elaborated technic which enables him to belong to different musical styles. This quality allowed him to appear on the stages, in the studios playing with Pierre RAPSAT, MALJEAN-WILLEMS, Jean-Pierre CATOUL group, SUCH A NOISE, SOULSISTER, CLOUSEAU, B.J. SCOTT.

Aside from playing with Jacques STOTZEM, he is regularly seen alongside, since '88, French singer Michel FUGAIN where he also doubles as tenor sax player.
His multi talents has been recognised during last "world championship"in Germany.
His time is devoted to appearances in concerts, studio sessions, teaching and international workshops. He also appeared on film and tv soundtracks, a.o. composed by pianist Michel HERR.

His CD "PAYSAGES ACOUSTIQUES" reveals another side of him - the composer.
Participants in this album are Jacques STOTZEM (gt), Jean-Pierre CATOUL (vl), Jacques PIROTTON (gt) and the BADIANE band.

His latest CD (Feb. '97) in duo with Jacques STOTZEM, "DIFFERENT WAYS" (Acoustic Music) displays at large the diversity of talents which characterizes these two musicians.

Thierry CROMMEN also appears on a recent Jacques STOTZEM CD, CONNECTIONS (Acoustic Music).
