Marjolein CNEUT

Born 1973, Marjolein CNEUT took classical singing lessons from Françoise VANHECKE and jazz ensemble from Frank DERUYTER at the Stedelijk Conservatorium of Kortrijk (Belgium).
In 1997, she completed her studies as a jazz singer at the Hogeschool, Royal Conservatory of Ghent, and in 98 obtained the pedagogic diploma. Her teachers were Peter HENS and Ronald DOUGLAS.

She attended workshops with a.o. Judy NIEMACK, David LINX, Carla WHITE, Deborah BROWN, Mark MURPHY, Carlo MURINGER, and an AEBERSOLD workshop in the US with a.o. David BAKER.

Marjolein CNEUT works as a freelance singer in various styles : funk, soul, jazz, bossa nova and has experience in backing vocals.

As her models and sources of inspiration, she names Sarah VAUGHAN, Deborah BROWN, Betty CARTER, Rachelle FERRELL and Jeanne LEE.

She currently appears with SEVENTH SENSE, a band with Dominique VANTOMME (piano), Mario VERMANDEL (bass), Luc VANDEN BOSCH (drs).

She teaches jazz vocals at the Conservatorium of Kortrijk.
