Fig.3, 6 and 7 are very handy ways to play either Major or Minor patterns; in these ways you actually can play in any key in the same way, with the same fingering just by moving Your position; a pattern in C can easily be transposed to Eb.
Don't think of all the note names (C, E, G changing to Eb, G, Bb).
When you play, just think of the pattern structure in note numbers (1, 3, 5) (fig.9 and 10).
