EXERCISE 7

"melodic Line"
Playing scalenotes and "passing" notes

"Passing" notes are often wrong notes, harmonically spoken. They are just used to make lines more fluent.
Use the same chord progression ( Dm7 \ G7 \ Cmaj7 \ Cmaj7 ).
play 4 notes in 1 bar and use just One pattern: 1-2-b3-3 (in Dm7 this would be D-E-F -F+-).
This pattern leads of course to G. but playing b3-3 on the D-string doesn't lead to G on the E-string, sound wise.
Instead of reading and playing "1" play the "8" sometimes to make the line fluent.

    variation:
    • - same exercise using the pattern: 1-3-5-b5
    • - same exercise using the pattern: 1-7-5-b5
    • - same exercise using the pattern: 1-5-3-b5
    • - same exercise Using the pattern: 1-b3-3-b5
    • - same exercise using the pattern: 8-b5-5-1
    • - same exercise creating your own pattern.
    • - same exercise mixing pattern.
