Lets take a common harmonic progression:

    Dm7 \ G7 \ Cmaj7 \ Cmaj7
Take a look at the structure of the chords (fig.15) in numbers; every chord has got a kind of 1-3-5-7 construction.
Now play these chords in tempo using 4 notes in 1 bar ( for instance on the beat) and using jut one pattern:
1-3-5-3 (in Dm7 this Would be: D-F-A-F).
    variation:
    • - same exercise using the pattern: 1-5-3-1
    • - same exercise using the pattern: 1-7-5-3
    • - same exercise using the pattern: 1-3-7-5
    • - same exercise Using the pattern: 5-3-1-3
    • - same exercise using the pattern: 3-1-5-3
    • - same exercise using the pattern: 7-5-3-1
    • - same exercise mixing patterns.
