| From the beginning, his quartet has met with an enthousiastic response from the public and the critics.
They played a.o. at the '97 "Jazz à Liège" Festival,
where they received the "Nicolas Dor Prize",
an award that goes to the best performance of a
Belgian band during the festival. Furthermore, the group had been selected by the RTBF radio to be recorded live in an exchange of radio programs for the CRPLF (Communauté des Radios Publiques de Langue Française), in which the public radio stations of France, Switserland and Canada participate. Other appearances in '98 include : Festival des Lundis d'Hortense (Brussels), "Jazz à Liège" Festival, Brussels Jazz Marathon, Gaume Jazz Festival and numerous concerts. In 2001, the band appeared in Paris during the festival "Le Jazz perd le Nord". The group swings, has a great impact on the audience, and presents a repertoire that combines original compositions with new renditions of well known standards.
| The CD " LOOP THE LOOP" was released in January '98 (Igloo Igl 136). It includes some excerpts from the acclaimed performance at the '97 Liège Festival, plus additional studio recordings. In the Belgian jazz referendum organized by Belgian radios RTBF and VRT, the album was elected by listeners best Belgian record of the year '98. The quartet also appears on one track of the compilation CD "10 ans de Jazz à Liège", recorded at the Liège Festival in 1998. | |
| In February 2004, on the Lyrae label, a second album comes out, titled "SIDES OF LIFE" (Lyrae LY0414-C). On 4 tracks, the nucleus of the quartet has been expanded with guests : Bert JORIS (tp) or Peter HERTMANS (gt), and a string quartet playing Fabrice's composition "Between You and me", arranged by Michel HERR. | |

A more electric band, which did its first appearance at the Mons Cap Sud Festival '99, during which Fabrice had received a "carte blanche". Electric instruments, hip grooves, a touch of acid jazz, some celtic colours, and an occasional drum loop on which all the soloists of the band have a chance to stretch. Smoking and amazing. Appearances : Mons Cap Sud Festival '99, Liège Festival 2000, Ciney Jazz Night 2000, Audi Jazz 2000, Nam' In Jazz Festival 2001 in Namur, concert during Mons en Jazz 2001, festival of Lundis d'Hortense 2003 (radio/tv recording) etc... |
Qu'est-ce que le "One Shot Band"?
