| THE PHOTOGRAPHY WORK OF JOS KNAEPEN
Jos L. KNAEPEN is one of those jazz passionate photographers who is, fortunately, much around to memorize events and faces. Jazz In Belgium already features samples of his work, in our Art Gallery section. Jos has extended his courtesy and is offering us his photos to be included with the musicians biographies, in our musicians section. Thus, as of today, we started to complete, where missing, or refresh the photos. Another good news, Jos just got a first order in for 2 photographs, one on the front cover of the March issue of "Downbeat" magazine. He thinks that he might be the first Belgian jazzphotographer to have his work published on one of the most famous jazzmagazines in the world. | WHERE HAS ALL THE MUSIC GONE ? ! As you are all aware, our CDs section, mainly, and many other pages on this site had Real Audio samples incorporated. Even though the samples were of a very short duration (1'30" mostly) they are subject to authors right payment to the SABAM.The tally of the already existed samples came up to a prohibitive cost. The board of Les Lundis d'Hortense has, therefore, taken the decision to eliminate almost all the Real Audio. In the future, we'll only illustrate the promotion of the week CD (in the home page) with an audio sample. Stripping off a website like this of its music is like going out naked. We have taken a long time to try and not to get there, in vain. But, good news, music samples will remain at the click of a mouse :you'll find, in many pages, a direct link to NETBEAT (the online record shop that features most of the Belgian labels) or to other music sites that will enable you to access their Real Audio streamer and listen to music samples reffered to on the page you are viewing. This decision was unavoidable in face of the heavy cost, seen the very small financial means of this non-profit site. (March 31, 2001) |
