This is the first CD release of pianist Véronique Bizet and drummer Eric Thielemans. These two musicians have been working together for two years before recording this CD.

The music on Moon at Sunrise is a synthesis of jazz, classical and contemporary music, as well as free improvisation. The music always happens in the moment . The musicians are "sound-producers", and primarily nothing is determined in advance.

The inspiration for this work was found not only in the world of sounds. The musicians also play from their mutual experience with dance (e.g. workshops and collaborations with Barre Phillips and Julyan Hamilton), and from their interest in a natural and spiritual life, so that in certain compositions, we can speak of a particular sound approach ( adding sound to silence ), or in other circumstances, the music is born simply out of movement and gesture.These experimental concepts were extremely well understood by the sound engineer and magician Michel Huon, who recorded the sound as naturally as possible.

Premier CD d'un duo composé de Véronique Bizet au piano et d'Eric Thielemans à la batterie et aux percussions.Ce CD nous présente des compositions instantanées, jouées avec spontanéité et authenticité par ces deux musiciens dont les affinités musicales sont étonnantes.

Leur musique est une synthèse de leurs expériences réciproques dans le jazz, l'improvisation, la musique classique et la musique contemporaine. De plus, leur capacité à improviser avec la danse n'est pas absente de leur façon de jouer.

Véronique et Eric nous offrent également quelques morceaux paisibles et méditatifs qui nous mettent en contact direct avec le son et son contenu spirituel. Ces compositions sont simples, belles et dépouillées à dessein, et leur démarche de composer dans l'instant rend le voyage plus captivant, car truffé de prises de risques et de surprises.

Un CD dont la qualité d'enregistrement et de son, dûe à Michel Huon, nous incite à l¹écouter avec les yeux fermés et le coeur ouvert...
