This CD, Aka Moon's 11th, is their original music for the dancetheatreproduction "In Real Time". This piece, created by Anne-Teresa DeKeersmaeker's dance company "Rosas", the Tg Stan theatre company, and AkaMoon is a true work of interactive creation.
The material was developed by the three disciplines together, with eachinfluencing the others. And the music particularly has a decisive role inthe way the dance was developed, with a real learning process around AkaMoon's rhythmic patterns being necessary.
But Aka Moon's music is also influenced by the collaboration dance-theatre,and it manifests a clarity which makes the music on this CD more accessible,and opens it up to a wider audience. The line-up on the CD also goes back"to basics", in comparison with Aka Moon's last albums, with the trio hereaugmented only by piano and keyboards.
During the piece, Aka Moon is on-stage practically all the time, playingtheir music amongst the dancers and actors, as full "actors" themselves inthe piece.
"In Real Time" has toured all over Europe, and this has created an addedcohesion among the three participants - Aka Moon, Rosas, and Tg Stan -taking all three even further beyond their individual roles and bringing anew dimension to what we expect from performing art.
The CD also includes a bonus track of Aka Moon's contribution to Rosas'sprevious piece "I Said I", with guest musicians Marc Ducret (guitar) andEric Legnini (keyboards). This 10-minute piece is a masterpiece in the band'swork.
Ce CD, le onzième d'AKA MOON est la musique originale pour la choréographie"In Real Time" créée avec la troupe "Rosas" de Anne-Teresa De Keersmaeker,et la troupe de théâtre "Tg Stan". C'est un travail collectif avec lesinteractions de la danse, du théâtre et de la musique.L'approche de cette matière s'est dévelopé autour des trois disciplines,avec l'incursion de l'une dans l'autre. La musique a une part décisive dansla façon d'aborder la danse, et un véritable apprentissage aux formesrythmiques d'Aka Moon a été nécessaire. D'autre part, Aka Moon ont construitleurs compositions reserrées autour du spectacle avec une notion de clartéqui donne à ce CD un accès plus facile, et pour un public plus large.Il est à noter que nous retrouvons ici le trio de base augmenté uniquementdu piano et des claviers. Une sorte de retour à la forme primordiale.Pendant le spectacle, Aka Moon joue sur scène parmis la troupe de danse, àplein rendement, et quasi sans interruptions. Les représentations nombreusesde la pièce en Europe ont amené une cohésion tellement grande que l'on peutaffirmer qu'autant Aka Moon que Rosas, ou Tg Stan se sont dépassés, et nousont apporté une dimension nouvelle par rapport aux spectacles habituels.Sur le CD, il y a également un extrait de la musique de la choréographie "ISaid I", où l'on retrouve Marc Ducret (gt élec) et Eric Legnini (kbs) commeinvités. C'est une pièce maîtresse dans l'oeuvre du groupe.
