Record Producer and Publisher.
IGLOO was founded in 1978. The idea came from a group of people who were anxious to complement the structure of show-business by allowing independent performers to release their own material.
Since its creation, IGLOO's work has evolved considerably. Initially confined to rather left-field marginal productions, the association progressively moved into jazz - a field which was largely ignored by traditional producers in Belgium. This orientation was confirmed by Igloo's take-over of the jazz label LDH.
Igloo also heard the call of contemporary music, releasing the recordings of several composers from the French-speaking community of Belgium. The development of this sector was not continued, although the door for more experimental creations still remains ajar via the IGLOO + collection.
Igloo then evolved with the overall context. The production policies have changed to be more geared towards international distribution.
IGLOO receives support from the Ministry of Culture of the French speaking Community of Belgium.
The IGLOO catalogue proposes a glimpse into 2 decades of jazz and improvised music in Belgium. A glimpse which can be also an occasion to discover an impressive amount of impressions of jazz ...
More than 130 releases (Vynil + Cds), which makes IGLOO Belgium's largest modern jazz catalog.
